The Currant Board Situation
I must say first that I'm rather hesitant to post another announcement due to the fact that I’ve been rather harassed for a few of my previous ones.
Anyway, the following is some points I have to make regarding this board. First of all, everyone probably realizes that everyone on this board (save a few) are newbies from the ToO. And I can’t speak for everyone, but the reason I joined this here forum was because I was tired of being a newbie there on the ToO where it seems to be a little anti-newbie right now. I’m not saying anything against the ToO, but the reason I was excited to join and be a big part here on the Electric Palace was because it was a place where newbies can just be newbies. (Ya I know that sounds like a line from Odyssey)
This board has been started by newbies and is run by newbies. I think this board should continue to be an escape for all newbies, and so we should learn from some of the ToO’s mistakes.
I know I’m starting to sound a bit weird, and so you can forget everything I said if you want.
And so now we get to our current situation. I know not everyone has been happy with the new list of Mods, but I am now announcing that we will leave it the way it is for this term. The way terms and such work here at TEP have not been finalized, but for now we will leave as is.
And so the current people in charge are:
Administrators:
Regis Blackbeard (Founder)
Jared deWhite (Mayor)
Jellyfish11 (Chief of Police)
Hannahjiejie (The Brain)
Mods:
Amethystic
Danielle Abigail Maxwell
KODY105
Molten’Lava
Peachy Keen
SivartM
The Sivart
For you mods, we are working on a system of training you for mod-ship.
So that IS how it is for now.

Re: The Currant Board Situation
In regards to most of what Rodney and Rusty are doing. they are spamming. I am deleting them because they are spamming and being rude. I will choose what gets deleted... or another mod can help. This spamming must stop...
Re: The Currant Board Situation
Just a little note of encouragement, I think it is fantastic to see how well you are keeping up with your rules, by acting on the spammers and such.
I am just going to explain my view on what has been happening on the ToO (newbie wise). I do agree that the older members there have not been welcoming to all the newer members. And I have seen many rude comments about newbies being immature and not legible, etc. I do find these quite disheartening since it is supposed to be a Christian site.
I have discussed this issue with many of the older members, and I have gotten two points of view: 1) that the ToO is a sissy site and we are way too nice to the newbies, and 2) that we are being hard on them, but they are being immature, so they need to be shaped up right.
I have not once told a newbie on the ToO that they are 1: immature or 2: they don't know how to post. I do think that some of the members (not all newbies) need to work on how they post, but not to the point where I don't want them on the ToO.
I think a lot of the newbies that have joined the ToO show great potential, which is why I'm glad to see this site. Right now, however, I think they just need to keep a steady pace; running in the election was an okay idea, but it may make you feel pressured (if you're okay with that, then that's fine).
I don't want to ramble any more unless you have questions, but my point is, everyone on the ToO was a newbie at one point, but they they have turned into great leaders who know how to post and know what they are doing. It is because of my opinion and knowledge of this situation that I don't say who I am on the ToO.

I saw that this morning, and I am really glad that this place exists. I know some of the members on the ToO say this is a silly site, and they don't care about it, but I think it is a great idea. While I am fine with newbies on the ToO, I, sadly have to agree with what you all are noticing, newbies are becoming less welcomed, no matter what I say. As I said before, I see a real potential in this site, and everyone here.
I am glad you think so.Jellyfish11 wrote:Well said!

Re: The Currant Board Situation
You may never know.
Because of the post I made and some I may post in the future, I prefer to keep it a secret. (Sorry to the two people I already said that to)
I have been a member on the ToO for quite a while, and those of you who are a member on there know me.

Re: The Currant Board Situation
Nope. Sorry. I just prefer that no one know. I don't want anyone to have a bias against me for who I am on the ToO.
Sorry to be repetitive, for those of you I've told this to by PM.

Re: The Currant Board Situation
Um, just so you guys know, when someone signs-up, it doesn't automatically mean they will even come back and post, or remember this place. Like on The ToO, there are many who haven't made one post at all. But they did sign up. People either forget, or join up as a joke. Of course, that doesn't mean we shouldn't be posting happily along....
Re: The Currant Board Situation
Of course not everybody will post after they join. I just wish they would. Wishful thinking, I know.
Thank you to everybody who does post, though. And welcome to Pseudonym and thelordismyshepherd aka Anna!
