Bible Verse of the Day

Post  Hannah on Fri Sep 26, 2008 8:30 am

January 5, 2008

Ecclesiastes 11:9

Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment.

September 29th's verse: Psalm 146:5. Amen. God is an ever-present help in times of trouble. A Shelter in the time of storm. I can't imagine what an unbeliever does for comfort...

October 01, 2008's verse: Isaiah 40:8. God's Word will never go away or disappear. No one can remove it. God protects His Word and makes it available to those who want it. God's Word is forever settled in heaven: we will have it for eternity. No one can change it; anyone who tries will have his name taken out of the book of life (Revelation 22:19).

1 Timothy 4:12

Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

For added implication of this verse, read:This

October 08, 2008. We as Christians are supposed to have spotless testimonies so unbelievers may see us and think, "There's something different about those people." We are to be pure, so that no evil may be spoken about Christ, and so no one has cause to blaspheme God.

Someone please post after me so I can comment on the next verse! Thank you!

Hey, first of all, I would like to apologize to everybody for not updating this. I'm really sorry.

As to the verse, today's is one that I really like. I think that many people will take it out of context, and only use the "for what a man sows, he will also reap" part. When that happens, we are forgetting the power and justice of God. The verse clearly states, "God is not mocked". When we mock God, or dishonor his name (sinning is enough) we will reap from our actions, and it won't be good.

God takes care of His children. We may not get everything we want, but we certainly get everything we need. God loves us so much that He sent His Son to die in our place. He knows what is best for us and gives it to us.

Malachi 3:10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

If we give God what he asks and obey him, then we will not even be able to hold all of his blessings. We are his workmanship created to do good works. God did not send his son so that we could continue in disbelief and not obey him. Because he died, we, in gratitude to God will give him our all.
