We Need Your Help to Decide!

Us admins were talking (as we so often do) and then Regis had an idea. Why not create a new board to replace this one and name it the Town (or city) of Connlesville? He and I discussed the idea and decided to take it to a vote; you'll decide for us!

Before you vote you should read the Q&A below, and if you have any questions, comments, concers, or suggestions, leave a reply and we shall answer it.

Q&A

Q1: If we were to start fresh, would you start a completely new board?

A1: Yes we would. People have gotten to where they feel this board is not interesting. If we went with The Town of Conellsville, we would get a fresh slate of members.

Q2: What would happen to this board If we moved?

A2: It would most likely be removed from regular member viewing. The admins could still use it as a resource when needed. For the mpst part, there would be no viewing of this place unless you are an admin.

Q3: Would we get new features if we started from scratch?

A3: There are some cool features being put together by the forumotion team. Among those are a way to increase traffic, choose your homepage : forum index, portal, or a HTML page and more.

Q4: What would happen if we stayed? Would you clear the board and re-start?

A4: If we stayed, nothing much would change unless we had more members with time to be active. The issue isn't that the members aren't active, it is that we don't have enough active members.

Q5: Would we move to an independant server so we can install MODs and stuff?

A5: If we had the money, we could move to an independant server. The money keeps us from doing much at this point. We could get something else and do have something else but it is full of advertisements so I haven't mentioned it.

So the basic question is "should we stay, or should we go"?

Not to be a downer, but I think the same thing will happen to that board over time, as happened to this one.

I understand. The issue here is a 2-fold problem.

Activity: The switch will get rid of the ones not interested in being around.
Communication: I haven't found out what you guys want. By doing a switch, I can find out what you guys want and build from there. Therefore, I can have something you guys like, which gives a reason to be on.

Yes, I do, but I don't know if it will be better or worst for this board.

Bad plan and a half I will leave if this goes through. We're doing much better then we we're earlier.

We could do so much more.

And we will have a cross-over period where you guys will give us input on how we will layout the new board. So you guys will be helping us to build it!

Okay I take back my comment about leaving but I think we shouldn't try to copy the ToO Maybe something else. The Electric palace was an original name, and something to consider would be a slightly diffent name then The ToC.

I love the EP a lot. I've been here from the beginning, I helped shape a lot of what it is now.
It was great when we started... we had a good, active community and it was a lot of fun. But really... all that's happening here now is you're kicking a dead horse.

If you want to start a new board, then go ahead, and I would join.
But I don't think it would really go anywhere. I think we need to face it... we'll never get the glory days we had when this board first started.

EDIT: I'm with Irwin... let's save this place for viewing and remembering.

Which is why I want to bring about something new and fresh that we all give input on.
