Halloween
What does everyone do for it?
Our family usually makes cookies and takes them door to door. But this year we're going to go and help with the food drive!

Re: Halloween
If my family feels hungry enough for some free sugar, we go trick-or-treating. I don't really care for it any more. I get enough sugar from the candy I swipe from my friends! I know Halloween is rooted in the satanic practices of demon worship and so on, but I do not participate in any of that stuff. If I ever garbed myself in a costume, it was frivolous stuff like a cowboy or a police officer.
I do not involve myself with handing any candy or tracts out. I avoid answering the door at all costs!
You may call my family and me heretics or satanists or whatever and I won't mind. I can handle insults from internet people better than meatspacers.
I hope no one minds my digression here, but I have a friend-of-a-friend who is know for his... antics. He says he will sit at the window of his bonus room on the second floor during Halloween evening. He will post a sign that says "Warning: dire consequences to all who pass this sign." He will be sitting in that window with an airsoft gun... NOTICE: I do not approve of this, but I did find it kind of funny. I've only met this kid once, and he seemed like a regular person, but I've heard a whole lot about the kind of antics he does.

Re: Halloween
Oh, pht. Most Christians go trick-or-treating, Kody. We wouldn't call you anything like that!!
Ooh, I just thought of something. My mom started handing out Odyssey cds to the evil people who bug us late at night. (lol, jk)

Re: Halloween
Our church has a Fall Fun Festival where the families who don't want to participate in trick-or-treating come. There are games (where one wins candy, of course), everybody dresses up in family-friendly costumes, and then some story times where the gospel is presented. It is usually a really great family time. We went every year, but this year us big 'uns are out of town, so we will miss it.
Re: Halloween
This year, I get to um.. hand out flashies at my job... with a few other people. I get to hand out candy to people at home tomorrow night, and at school.. it is project impact, meaning, the whole school goes and does community service work. And my Advisor, Mr. Eisman, picked my group to work outside, in the cold, weeding and things like that at Fort Walla Walla. I know two groups are heading up to the Lodge, and others are going other places.. amazing... I wish I was in a different group at times though.. oh well...
Re: Halloween
My family is not into trick-or-treating. I have done it once, but we don't actually celebrate it. I do not look down on anyone who does go, but I don't encourage it.

Re: Halloween
We sacrificed a few hamsters and stuff.
Actually, we didn't really do anything special, and since we live out in the country, we didn't even have to turn off all the lights and pretend we weren't there.
