at my church we sing just hymns, which is fine and im ok with it, but it also seems like our congregation is mostly older people. our attendance is running between 25-50 people each sunday morning. i like a smaller church BUT i think we might reach out to more people my age if we had faster music.

My current favorite section of the Bible is the Book of Daniel because I am studying it in a Bible Study right now. There is so much more to the book than Daniel in the Lion's Den. What an amazing man of God!

My long-time favorite book of the bible is Philippians!

My Testimony

This is my testimony as told by my mom.

After 7 years of marriage, I was overjoyed to tell my husband that I was finally expecting. Those tears of joy turned to fear and sorrow after one of my doctor visits. I knew that I had been very nauseated to a point of throwing up every few minutes. This constant sickness had caused a chemical imbalance within me, not to say what it may have done to my expected child. My doctor suggested to me that for my safety I should terminate the pregnancy or ...

I was at a youth service at our church last friday night.I thought the sermon was good and wanted to sum it up and us talk about it. The sermon was about how Elisha went and told his family good-bye and went with Elija and how we need to put some things that are hindering us on the alter and some things like friends don't deserve to be put on the alter so we should give them a kiss good-bye. What do you think of this?

We all have times when it seems like nothing is going right and we tend to speak about our problem in a negative way. I heard a verse today I want to share with you.

Matthew 15:11: Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.

This is saying that if we speak about our problem we are setting ourselves up to lose the war before it comes. We should speak in faith believing that if it is God's will grant us our request. ...

What I mean is, what has your pastor or youth pastor been preaching about recently?

I'll start. Last night my youth pastor gave an overview of the whole Old Testament. There are about eight "backbone" books that cover all of the OT period in chronological order, with the other books being grouped into the same time period as one of those backbone books. I didn't have enough time or paper to copy the list, so I can't quite remember it all. Maybe when he finally gets the webmaster ...

Prayer, discussion one

Recently, someone asked me if it was stupid to pray for something. What he wanted was not unreasonable, but it wasn't the traditional things someone would ask for: food, health, a job, etc.

I remember when my Junior Church class was playing a game, the teacher told me, "If you want to win, just pray." I said, "Isn't that sacrilegious, asking for something so frivolous?" He said, "Nothing is frivolous with God. If you want something, He will answer your request."

I'm studying Romans, and I'm loving it. It's a required class for Juniors at WWVA. I'm learning soo many things. Annotating is sure helping too!

What do you think of the book of Romans, and what do you think it means to yourself?

A word from Paul: "For I am not ashamed of the gospel; it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who has faith, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed through faith for faith; as it is written, "The ...
